(These won't fit in Barbie's  shoes...I used Trenzado to match my tiny teal sweater). A thinner yarn will work for real doll socks.

Cast on 12 stitches in 1x1 rib at tension 0 and slide lever I (Brother machine). Cast on is 1 zigzag row and 3 circular. Carriage at right. At tension 1.0 and slide lever in the middle, knit 6 rows of ribbing. Transfer all stitches to main bed.

For circular knitting move 6 stitches left of 0 to the ribber bed, using the same 6 needle numbers as on the main bed.. (I used 6 prongs of the 7x1 tool. ..good garter bar practice also!) Since you will be knitting circular, you do not have to move ribber to half pitch. If you are used to that, it won't hurt. Hang a small weight in the ribbing...make sure it catches both layers. Set machine for circular knitting with the L part button on the main bed and the R part button on the ribber. Knit 6 circular rows....this is 12 on the row counter....over and back is one circular row.

Shape heel...watch stitches carefully as this is a small piece.
Set RB to slip (part) both ways. Set MB to hold and *bring 1 main bed stitch closest to the carriage to hold. Knit 1 row.** Repeat from * to ** 3 more times. BEFORE you knit the last row with 2 stitches in work, #push 1st stitch OPPOSITE the carriage back to upper working position. Knit 1 row.## Repeat from # to ## 3 more times. All stitches are now back in work. Cancel hold on the main bed and set both beds for circular knitting again. Knit 6 circular rows for the foot.

Shape Toe...Transfer end stitch to its neighbor on both ends and both beds. Knit 2 passes (1 circular row). Repeat these transfers and knit 2 passes one more time. You should have 2 stitches in work on each bed. Remove these stitches on one row of ravel cord, still knitting circular. Sew the ends back through the ravel cord to hold the stitches while you finish off the toe. (I tried waste yarn in circular knitting and it was too much bulk in the way.)

Sew the rib seam and graft the toe. Voila....tiny teal socks!
