A Different Way To Shape A Heel and Toe
in memory of
Sakuyo Bartram
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Socks: Shaping a heel and toe are different.
Shape the heel:
Put the left half of needles and carriage on hold.
Work only on needles on right side.
Pull one needle next to a carriage and one needle other side of carriage on hold
and knit one row, and repeat until the desired number of needles are remained in
a center. Push back two needles from each side of center to "B" position and
knit one row, and repeat until all the needles are back to "B".
Take off the hold from a carriage and continued knit the rest of the sock till
you come to the toe section.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To shape the toe:
Put the left half of needles and carriage on hold.
Work only on right half needles which are not on hold.
Pull one needle next to the carriage to hold and knit one row.Repeat all way
until the number of needles you want for the toe.
Knit back ~ push one needle back to "B" position from other side of the carriage
and knit one row,and repeat until all the needles are back to "B".
Scrap off on the waste yarn. Kichener stitch or bind together with other side of
toe. The stitched line should be on the top of the toe for the comforting reason
in case of bind together.
