Here is a little inch worm sweater and hat. He has no arms, therefore no sleeves. But he is cute dressed up in a sweater. Unfortunately the inchworm beanie is hard to find now but if you are a resourceful person, maybe you can make one. Ione
Sweater and hat for inch worm
Yarn---315 or trenzado.
Machine, Studio standard gauge
Starting at the very back end of the sweater and using 55 stitches make whatever knit of trim you want. I made a scalloped edge or you could make a pico hem. Then make 48 rows of plain stockinette at about tension 7 . Depends on your yarn. Dec. one st. each side every other row until you have 43 sts. Transfer sts. to ribber and rib 1x1 rib for 8 rows. Bind off.
You can start this by doing the ribbing first and inc. every other row until you have 55 sts. Then knit 48 rows and finish off with whatever you want. I just liked the scalloped edge instead of a hem. Sew the seam.
Hat Cast on 43 sts. Do 1x1 rib for 6 rows.
Transfer sts. to main bed and knit plain for 4 rows. Transfer every other
stitch to the next needle. Knit 2 rows and gather off on a double eyed needle.
Gather and sew side seam. I crocheted a chain of 30 sts., sewed in the tails
of yarn and pulled it thru the top of the hat and out again and just tied it
in one knot. It is cute.
Headband for inch worm
Cast on 43 sts. Do 1x1rib for 8 rows. Transfer sts. to main bed and bind off. Sew short ends together. I used 3/15 or trenzado with tension 3 or 4 for the rib.
